Affordable housing advocates say new rules shortchange poor
LOS ANGELES—Affordable housing advocates criticized state guidelines released Thursday that distribute money from an affordable housing bond measure, saying the new rules shortchange small projects that help poor people.
The guidelines will open a wave of funding for developments on underused parcels of land. The $240 million comes from the Proposition 1C housing bond passed by voters in 2006.
