On February 21, 2008 CCRH organized and co-sponsored the first FREE workshop in a series brought to you by the Tribal Housing Capacity Development Project.

The Big Valley Band of Pomo Indians and the California Coalition for Rural Housing convened a one day workshop on the use of private, state and federal funding sources that can be used to meet tribal homeownership housing needs. The workshop provided an introduction for Native American tribal staff, council members, officials and other organizations that provide support for Native American. Topics included:

  • Low interest mortgage financing to purchase homes
  • Down payment assistance
  • Purchasing homes for sale to tribal members
  • Purchase of land for development of homes
  • Planning and predevelopment for homeownership projects
