Lina is a first-generation college student who graduated from California State University, San Marcos with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology & Justice Studies and a concentration in Sociology. She interned for the Global Citizen’s Viticulture and Horticulture vocational program in her last year of college where she found her desire for community service and involvement.
Lina’s parents have passed down the importance of hard work and compassion. She has been fortunate enough to have supportive family in her life which motivates her to give back and make a positive impact in the world. She is excited for the opportunity to do so by being a CCRH intern at All Mission Indian Housing Authority to continue working for the community and gain vital knowledge and skills to pursue the affordable housing and community development field. She is interested in learning about what it takes to build affordable housing and strong communities in rural areas to improve their quality of life. After this year long journey, she plans to continue in the field because she knows substandard housing is a public health crisis and there is extreme need for affordable housing.
