Nicandro Gutierrez graduated from California State University, Fresno in 2017, with a Bachelor’s Degree of Arts in Sociology. He was involved in Circle K International and volunteered for numerous events that helped him gain a better understanding of low-income communities in the Central Valley and people experiencing homelessness. He hopes to return to college and earn a Master’s Degree in Sociology with an emphasis on nutrition.
Nicandro was born and raised in Fresno, CA and grew up with five siblings. His family comes from a restaurant working background. With that experience he grew up to appreciate food as a valuable way to conduct business, to appreciate and promote his culture through Mexican cuisine, and to give back to the community. He looks forward to his CCRH Internship with Self-Help Enterprises in Visalia, CA and hopes to learn skills to assist others and help the Central Valley prosper.
