Adrian Rivera was born and raised in San Diego.  Adrian lives in the Logan Heights area and enjoys simple pleasures like spending time at the beach, in nature, or spending time with friends and family. Currently, he is a rising fourth-year business student looking forward to a future in the real estate industry.

 

His passion for business and service has brought him to the University of San Diego where he is studying and working towards his Bachelor of Business Administration and Real Estate, while also minoring in Leadership Studies.

 

At USD he has become involved in various student organizations like Movimiento Estudiantil Chicanx de Aztlán (M.E.Ch.A). Multicultural organizations like this strive to further social awareness and the Latinx identity on campus. In the past, Adrian was also involved in multiple leadership roles on campus, such as a Commuter Assistant for the Department of Community and Leadership Development, where he assisted new first-year commuter students with their transition to USD.  He was also the Treasurer (now the Co-Chair!) for M.E.Ch.A., where he managed budgets and committees to ensure all events were funded and ran smoothly.

 

He also taught "Emerging Leaders" which is the introductory course to the minor of Leadership Studies at USD. He was able to teach and guide his students to see the dynamics of power and privilege in relation to leadership, which was an experience he will never forget.

Nonetheless, he is incredibly passionate about giving back to the community, which is what he hopes to do in his internship role!
