Fermín Pereira is a fourth-year student at UC Davis studying Sustainable Environmental Design and Spanish. Originally from California and raised between Mezquitic, Jalisco, Mexico, and Los Angeles, Fermín is currently interning with Mercy Housing California.

Growing up in Los Angeles, he developed an interest in observing the urban spaces around him from neighborhoods and public spaces to transportation systems and the ways communities interact with the built environment. Those experiences helped shape his interest in housing, transportation, and community development. Through his internship, Fermín hopes to continue learning about affordable housing development and pursue a career in community-focused planning and development.

Outside of work and school, he enjoys exploring cities, discovering interesting buildings, spending time outdoors, and traveling.
