Marisol Ferreyra Orozco

Marisol Ferreyra Orozco is a first-generation graduate student at California State University, Sacramento. Marisol comes from a farm working background with limited resources, a lack of opportunities, and challenges. Although she has faced many challenges, she has turned the challenges to motivate her to create positive change. By focusing on helping underrepresented communities and addressing inequity, she is taking important steps to create opportunities for marginalized communities. She believes that it's crucial to work towards equitable opportunities, regardless of background or identity.

She has completed a bachelor’s degree in International Relations with a minor in LGBTQ+ Studies. She is currently in the process of completing a master’s degree in Public Policy and Administration. She plans to use the knowledge and skills she learns from the CCRH Internship to be more aware of the affordable housing system, using it to learn to improve the policy of housing to be able to achieve higher opportunities of housing for marginalized and underrepresented communities to be housed providing them stability and safe space.
